Hazleton Mayor Jeffrey Cusat Jeffrey Cusat is a renowned and accomplished businessman and leader with years of experience. His early career began as the owner of Cusat’s Café in 1990, when he was elected to City Council in 2014 and then elected the 28th Mayor of Hazleton in 2015. 

Mayor Cusat is an innovative leader and served on council bringing new ideas and is committed to positive transformation and achieving a safer Hazleton.

Mayor Cusat attended and graduated from Hazleton High School and Penn State University where he studied Accounting and Institutional Management.

Mayor Cusat is a civic minded person who is truly committed to our city. Mayor Cusat’s a board member and supporter of Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Catholic Social Services - Century Club, Helping Hands Society, American Cancer Society - Relay for Life, Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress, Hazleton Playground Revitalization, Mayor Cusat’s Hazleton Revitalization Fund and POWER.

Mayor Cusat is dedicated to our youth and has served as a coach and sponsor of the Hazleton Football League, Hazleton Little League and All American Girls Softball League.
